Hello!! I'm Katie, I am a licensed massage therapist, and a 2005 graduate of Northern Prairie School of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, formerly of Sycamore, IL. Since then, I have worked in a spa setting, a chiropractic office, and for the past 12 years I've been an independent contractor working with a group of other massage therapists at The Therapeutic Massage Center in DeKalb, IL.

Over the past decade I've taken many continuing education courses to add to my toolbox of massage techniques. I am certified in prenatal massage, and I have also taken classes on deep tissue for neck, back, and shoulders, low back and sciatica as well as the very unique massage that I do with my feet instead of hands. I am certified in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy®!! I am so proud to be a part of this elite group of massage therapists in the United States. Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy® is a very unique modality of massage, it is a barefoot technique using deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. Bars are used above the head by the therapist for support and balance. I really enjoy working with a variety of clients and issues. My goal as a therapist is to give my clients exactly what they need. I like customizing your massage just for you, whatever you need that day.

Now, more than ever it's important to readdress that if you aren't feeling well, have a fever or have been around sick people in the week leading up to your massage: You MUST cancel. I will uphold this same standard for myself.

There are other situations when massage therapy may not be suitable or advised including :
Recent Surgery
Contagious diseases, including any cold or flu-- no matter how mild it may seem to you
Under the influence of drugs or alcohol- including prescription pain medication
